Clerking

Having been recognised in The Legal 500 as being “very well clerked and managed..” and “ably clerked” with our Senior Clerk noted as being “one of the very best” we believe that our service is and should be unparalleled.

Chambers prides itself on the high standard of its clerking and administration. Quality Mark procedures have been adopted at every stage of its business, from the acceptance of instructions to the rendering of accounts. It is of great importance to us that our Clerks are approachable, user friendly, clear and efficient.

The clerking team is on hand to advise on the appropriate barrister for every brief and to provide quick estimates of the likely cost of his or her instruction. Fixed prices can be agreed for all new instructions, from short initial advice to lengthy and complex litigation, and upon receipt, we timetable paperwork to ensure that clients are aware when advice and drafting will be completed.

The clerks can always arrange for the listing of emergency applications whether in the High Court or the County Courts. In particular, our Senior Clerk, Alister Williams, has extensive experience of the procedures for obtaining freezing orders or search and seizure orders in the High Court.

Pallant Chambers welcomes instructions by email and regularly receives and returns completed papers in this form.

As Senior Clerk he is responsible for all aspects of Chambers’ operation and with his team is the first point of contact for enquiries in relation to expertise, availability and cost.
