Chancery
Members of Chambers have specialised in Chancery law for many years, appearing in some of the more important cases in this field and developing a level of knowledge and skill rarely seen outside the top London sets.
Our Chancery team has considerable experience of conducting cases in the High Court and the Principal Probate Registry, and has recently been strengthened further by the appointment of several new tenants who previously held substantial practices in London. We combine this High Court expertise with regular appearances in the County Courts, where our knowledge of the ‘local terrain’ can be a considerable advantage.
We are able to offer expertise in a range of Chancery disputes, including probate actions, Inheritance Act claims, partnership disputes, pensions, trust claims, co-ownership disputes and equitable remedies. Notable recent cases include Court of Appeal decisions in the fields of restitution and constructive trusts, and reported High Court decisions regarding testamentary capacity, undue influence and proprietary estoppel.
