Anita Geser represented the Respondent Mother in the Court of Appeal. The Court of Appeal was asked by a Father to overturn findings of fact made against him in the lower Court on the basis that much of the evidence was hearsay and the main witness(his step daughter) had mental heath issues. The Appeal Court refused to set aside the findings (save one where the Judge at first instance had made an error in relation to the contents of a Police Report). The Court gave guidance as the treatment of hearsay evidence and the relevance of the corroborating evidence on a fact finding as being pieces of a jigsaw that the Judge was entitled to put together.
