A civil barrister with a common law practice, William Emerson has particular experience in the areas of personal injury, housing and employment law. He is recommended in the Legal 500 under the employment section.

William has acted for and against major companies in claims relating to sex and disability discrimination and unfair dismissal claims and has been engaged to draft contracts of employment and settlement agreements.

In respect of personal injury work, he has acted in high value cases involving complex issues relating to costs of care and loss of employment opportunity. He acts for both Claimants and Defendants and is regularly instructed by a leading company to act for it in respect of defending personal injury claims. William has also acted in high profile Inquests on behalf of public authorities such as Anna Hider and Derek Ord and Jeanette Wallace deceased.

William is also engaged by a local authority to review its housing decisions under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996. He also has considerable experience in acting for landlord and tenants in respect of possession proceedings and anti-social behaviour injunctions.
